Pure Direct switching on the RX-497B guarantees the best sound reproduction quality possible by allowing the signal to bypass non-essential controls and circuits and travel directly to the discrete power amplifier via the shortest and most direct signal path. Extended frequency response allows the RX-497B to be fully compatible with Super Audio CD and two-channel DVD-Audio formats. The RX-497B has extensive connections and enhanced multi-zone control capabilities, including a Zone 2 audio output so that music can be enjoyed in a second room. In addition, audio can be sent to three different zones in your home via the main zone speaker output, Speaker B output and zone 2 audio output. There is also a main/zone 2 power switch and two input/one output remote terminals. Additional features include remote controllable input selection and motor-driven volume control, speaker A, B or A+B selection, phono pre-amp, tape monitor switch and AM/FM tuner with 40 station digital presets.
