A dedicated amplifier is ideal for those wanting to listen to quality 2-channel audio from sources such as CD. Yamaha's stereo amplifiers are designed for superb musical expression and sound quality. The Yamaha A-S500 support Yamaha's wired and wireless iPhone docks. The brushed aluminium retro styling ensures they will match Yamaha's CD players for a system that looks as good as it sounds.
Designed on the A-S2000
The Yamaha A-S500 integrated amplifier is designed as a decedent of the famous A-S2000. An aluminium front panel, silky touch volume/selector knobs and Yamaha's strong commitment to quality craftsmanship are just some of the benefits of this amplifier.
iPod Dock ready with independent power supply
With Yamaha’s optional iPod dock you can easily enjoy your mobile music collection through the best system in the house and you can even charge your iPod while you listen. When your iPod is operating or charging it is more susceptible to interfere with audio quality during playback. To minimise this, Yamaha have included a dedicated power supply just for the iPod. This will ensure premium audio from an iPod or iPhone.
Balanced signal path
All Yamaha Hi-Fi components are made from the highest quality materials. However, sometimes when connecting devices such as an iPod they can be their own worst enemy in creating interference along the audio path. To rectify this, Yamaha use a balanced signal path to reduce noise in the system and give you an improved audio quality.
A and B Speakers with high grade terminals
Yamaha's A-S500 integrated amplifier has speaker A & B option which allows music sources to be played in two difference areas of the house, adding versatility to this accomplished amplifier. It is also equipped with High Grade Silver Speaker Terminals to help ensure the audio signal is transferred to the speaker without interference.
FEATURES:
All-Aluminium Chassis
With the entire chassis able to be electrically earthed a 'faraday cage' effect is obtained, whereby electromagnetic interference is blocked from entering the audio path, resulting in a clearer signal.
Discrete Amplifier Configuration
By using selected individual components throughout the power amplifier section, benefits in power handling at lower distortion levels can be realised, as well as the ability to 'tune' the output section for the desired tonal characteristics.
Pure Direct
Allows the music signal to travel the shortest possible route, bypassing the buffer amp, tone, loudness, and balance controls to virtually eliminate any signal degradation for the purest sound quality and noticeable improvements in sonic depth and musical expression.
Wireless iPod Dock
To compliment these Yamaha's new wireless iPod technology will transmit uncompressed audio and allows you to control your music wirelessly from your iPod. You even have complete volume control from your iPod as well. Yamaha's new wireless iPod technology also allows you to control your music wirelessly from your iPod.
Symmetrical Amplifier Design
Stereo sound inherently delivers different information to each speaker. It is this different information, frequently referred to as left/right separation, which assists in delivering stereo imaging - centralised vocals, separation of various musical instruments and depth to the sound-field. One method of achieving superior left/right separation is symmetrical amplifier design, whereby the left and right side of the amplifier is symmetrically designed. This design also improves the signal integrity, delivering an overall superior audio outcome.
